Four Bulgarian soldiers dead in Iraq attacks: deputy defense minister
SOFIA (AFP) Dec 27, 2003
Four Bulgarian soldiers died in the series of car bomb and mortar attacks Saturday in the holy Shiite Iraqi city of Karbala, Bulgarian Deputy Defense Minister Ilko Dimitrov told a news conference here.

In Warsaw, the Polish military spokesman for the multinational force said two Thai soldiers had also died in the attacks, increasing the earlier toll which had stood at four soldiers dead.

Seven Iraqis were also killed in the coordinated attacks, in which four car bombs exploded, and mortars and machine-gun fire were used, Adam Stasinski told AFP.
