Visegrad group wants to jointly train pilots
PRAGUE (AFP) May 24, 2004
Visegrad Group countries and NATO members Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia want to create a center for training their military pilots, their defense ministers said after meeting Monday in Prague.

Speaking for the group, Czech Defense Minister Miroslav Kostelka said the four central European countries were setting up a working commission to study the question.

The Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland have been NATO members since 1999 while Slovakia joined the Alliance in March.

The Visegrad Group was founded in 1991 to boost cooperation between then Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Poland. After Czechoslovakia's split in 1993 the V3 became V4 and focused on coordinating efforts on EU and NATO integration.
