Australian army probing sex misconduct claims at personnel office: report
SYDNEY (AFP) Sep 03, 2004
The Australian army is investigating allegations of sexual misconduct and abuse of command against six soldiers in the force's Soldier Career Management Agency (SCMA), The Daily Telegraph reported Friday.

A spokesman for the army confirmed a probe was underway into at least six soldiers after allegations were made against them over the past two weeks.

"An investigation is underway into allegations of inappropriate behaviour at SCMA," he said but refused to provide further details.

The newspaper said two captains, two warrant officers, a sergeant and a corporal were under investigation for sexual misconduct and abuse of the chain of command.

It said the six were employed in a section of the SCMA charged with ensuring soldiers were "combat capable".
