Two houses destroyed in US air strikes on Iraqi flashpoint town

US warplanes raided the Iraqi rebel bastion of Fallujah on Thursday destroying two houses, one of them empty, residents and witnesses said, as at least one wounded person was hospitalised.

A strike in the Jubail area on the southwest side of Fallujah destroyed the home of Haraj Rashid, said his relative Amer Hamid adding that there were casualties under the rubble.

US planes also struck an empty house in the Jolan district wounding a passer-by, according to Dr Ali Hayad at Fallujah's main hospital
