US marines dies in accident in western Iraq BAGHDAD (AFP) Jan 15, 2005 A US marine died in an accident in western Iraq's al-Anbar province Saturday, the military said in a statement.
"One marine assigned to First Marine Expeditionary Force was killed in a non-hostile accident January 14, while conducting security and stability operations in the Al-Anbar province," the military said, adding that the incident was under investigation.
According to an official Pentagon tally, 288 soldiers have died in non-combat incidents in Iraq since the US-led invasion nearly two years ago.
