Iran warns of consequences if nuclear issue goes to UN
HELSINKI (AFP) Nov 09, 2005
Iran warned on Wednesday that taking its nuclear program before the United Nations Security Council would have "unpredictable consequences."

A European-sponsored International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) resolution passed in September that paved the way to reporting Iran to the Security Council over its nuclear program "in our view has jeopardized the positive atmosphere existing between both parties," Iran's representative to the agency Mehdi Akhondzadeh said.

"Any action from interlocutors to further complicate the situation could have unpredictable consequences," he cautioned, speaking at a seminar in Helsinki.
