Armor Holdings To Provide Heavy Truck Armor Kits To US Army

Armor Holdings announced Wednesday that it has received contract modifications from the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command to supply additional crew protection kits for the U.S. Army heavy truck fleet.

The new production award totals approximately $23 million and requires Armor Holdings Aerospace & Defense Group to supply additional supplemental armor systems for the Palletized Loading System (PLS), the Heavy Equipment Transporter (HET), and the M915 series of trucks.

The Company noted that this new business will be performed in early 2005 by its Phoenix, Arizona-based Aerospace and Defense Group facility.

Robert Schiller, President and Chief Operating Officer of Armor Holdings, said, "Adding these new production requirements to our current work to provide crew protection kits for the U.S. Army heavy truck fleet demonstrates the diversification in our capabilities and the variety of our product offering. The opportunity also reinforces our commitment to the Force Protection business in support of our Armed Forces, of which we are extremely proud."
