US warplanes launch multiple strikes in southern Iraq
WASHINGTON (AFP) Mar 19, 2003 US warplanes conducted multiple strikes in southern Iraq Wednesday, striking anti-aircraft artillery, air defenses and surface-to-surface missile systems, a Pentagon spokesman said.
"There were multiple strikes on artillery, air defenses, and surface-to-surface (systems) in the south," Lieutenant Colonel David Lapan said.
It was not immediately known how many locations were struck in the raid.
