ICEYE, a global leader in synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite technology, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Saab to advance the integration of space-based radar data into Saab's Command and Control (C2) Systems.

As modern military operations increasingly rely on space-based sensor technologies, the collaboration aims to enhance situational awareness in complex environments. By integrating ICEYE's intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities with Saab's C2 systems, the initiative seeks to improve long-range targeting and tactical decision-making processes.

The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation, with an initial focus on demonstrating integration into Multi-Domain Operations (MDO). This collaboration is expected to strengthen space situational awareness and bolster the protection of critical infrastructure. These advancements will provide valuable insights to both military and civilian authorities during peacetime, crisis situations, and conflicts.

Pekka Laurila, CSO and Co-founder of ICEYE, emphasized the importance of staying ahead in operational effectiveness: "It is crucial to remain one step ahead and effective situational awareness is a key tenet of this. We are bringing together cutting-edge SAR technology from ICEYE, and the finest C2 systems from Saab, to look at new and improved ways to maintain the advantage through enhanced situational awareness, leading to better surveillance and protection."
