Raytheon, a division of RTX (NYSE: RTX), has been awarded a $529 million direct commercial sales contract to provide the Netherlands with a Patriot air and missile defense system fire unit and associated equipment. This initiative is aimed at replenishing a Patriot fire unit previously donated to Ukraine.

The agreement encompasses the delivery of a single fire unit, which includes essential components such as a radar, launchers, command and control stations, and additional support equipment.

"Raytheon is committed to partnering with the Dutch as they continue to advance their integrated air and missile defense capabilities," stated Pete Bata, senior vice president of Global Patriot at Raytheon. "The Netherlands' investment in Patriot ensures collective security and deterrence across Europe."

Patriot remains the sole combat-proven ground-based air and missile defense system worldwide, capable of defending against advanced long-range cruise missiles, tactical ballistic missiles, and a wide array of air-breathing threats. The system serves as the backbone of air defense for 19 nations and continues to demonstrate its effectiveness in countering complex aerial threats and large-scale raid scenarios.

The majority of the work related to this contract will take place in Andover, Massachusetts, and Huntsville, Alabama.
