Anaheim CA (SPX) Aug 09, 2004
U.S. Army RQ-7A Shadow Tactical Unmanned Aerial Vehicle systems have flown more than 2,200 sorties and accumulated more than 8,800 flight hours while performing surveillance and reconnaissance for coalition warfighters in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Steve Reid, Shadow TUAV program director for AAI Corporation, the prime contractor for the Shadow TUAV program, reported on a number of significant milestones achieved by Shadow TUAV systems.

In a briefing at the Association of Unmanned Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) North America 2004 Symposium and Exhibition taking place in Anaheim, California, Reid said:

"We are enormously proud of the Shadow system and its performance in support of our soldiers. In fact, more than 70 percent of our soldier flight hours have been in the harsh combat environment of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF)."
