Dynamics Research Receives Training Transformation Contract From DoD
Andover MA (SPX) Aug 12, 2004
Dynamics Research Corp, as part of the team led by Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Department of Defense's (DoD) Joint Knowledge Development and Distribution Capability Joint Management Office (JKDDC JMO) to conduct research, development, production, integration, testing, and delivery of online education and training courses for the U.S. Armed Forces around the world.

DRC's primary responsibility will be to conduct training evaluations and requirements analysis and to build web-based interactive training modules for individual joint war fighters.

The JKDDC JMO was developed to drive the transformation of U.S. military forces by creating, storing, imparting, and applying knowledge to enhance an individual's ability to operate in a joint, multi-service context.

This capability prepares future decision-makers and leaders to understand the operating picture and respond to adversaries. It can also enhance the joint warfighter's ability to leverage knowledge.

"DRC is pleased to be chosen by the JKDDC JMO to play such an important role in helping prepare our nation's armed forces for the real-life battlefield conditions that they may be facing in the coming years," said William C. Hoover, DRC president and chief operating officer.

"We believe that our 10 years of working with the joint community to produce software 0applications in support of the DoD Joint Training System makes DRC an excellent choice to support this contract to implement technologically advanced training initiatives that further the effectiveness of America's military forces."

The contract was awarded June 15, 2004. First year funding under the contract is $11.9 million, with a projected value of $65 million. Potential revenue to DRC under this single award contract is up to $5 million over the life of the effort, which will have a one-year base period and four option years.
