"This contract award signifies an important milestone for the Corporation as we expand our presence to Europe and Germany in particular, and will provide the Company with the experience necessary to establish a foothold in performing defense I/T work in Europe.

This award provides compelling evidence of the quality of our I/T services capabilities, and will create other opportunities around the globe for Rome Research," commented Al Lane, RRC President.

"By combining high quality implementation and services through understanding the military's communication requirements, we can deploy results-oriented solutions tailored to our clients' needs. We look forward to expanding our support to the U.S. military around the globe and to continue our strong partnership with a highly valued customer."

The Global Information Grid is the globally interconnected, end-to-end set of information capabilities, associated processes, and personnel for collecting, processing, storing, disseminating, and managing information on demand to war-fighters, policy makers, and support personnel.

The GIG supports all Department of Defense (DoD), National Security, and related Intelligence Community missions and functions (strategic, operational, tactical, and business), in war and in peace. The GIG provides capabilities to all operating locations (bases, posts, camps, stations, facilities, mobile platforms, and deployed sites), and also provides interfaces to coalition, allied, and non-DoD users and systems.
