Hicks And Associates Awarded Design And Demonstration Contract By DARPA
Mclean VA (SPX) Sep 08, 2004
A team led by Hicks and Associates (H&AI), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Science Application International Corporation (SAIC), announced last Friday (September 3) it has been awarded a $686,148 contract from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA).

If all options are awarded, the cost plus fixed fee contract could have a total value of up to $4.7 million over 23 months. H&AI is part of SAIC's Transformation, Test, Training and Logistics Group.

The H&AI team will design and demonstrate a new low cost, low probability of intercept signaling technology. The project is a result of teaming between H&AI and Gibbons Systems, the inventor and owner of the enabling technology, and is an example of H&AI's new technology incubation thrust.

The Rescue Transponder project is designed to provide advanced signaling technology that could result in a fast transition to military use by the Department of Defense. Robert Tuohy is the H&AI program manager.
