Innodata Isogen and Astoria have more than two decades combined experience in the development and delivery of content management solutions to military and defense-related organizations. In fact, the two companies share a history of delivering technical publishing solutions to Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company (LMAC).
Innodata Isogen led the team responsible for the current Astoria implementation for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) technical publishing group, delivering the maintenance technical ordering system for JSF's Air Force requirements.
"Innodata Isogen is an ideal partner for Astoria, given their reputation as the worldwide leader in designing and engineering powerful XML-based publishing systems for aerospace and defense, as well as a host of other industries," said Tom Steding, president and CEO of Astoria Software.
"Our structured document management technology combined with their track record executing on complex projects will result in our customers getting the best document management solutions."
"Astoria Software has a proven solution that matches up well to the needs of many of our clients," said George Kondrach, executive vice president of Innodata Isogen.
"Astoria has one of the first commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software applications developed to natively manage SGML/XML document structures and content. We're delighted to be working together to meet the specialized needs of aerospace and defense firms."
The agreement represents a significant offering to technical publishing and project documentation groups in aerospace and other industries. Technical publishers at the contractor level and military end-users will be able to author, manage, update and publish documentation in an easy-to-use, flexible framework that not only accommodates current Mil-Spec requirements, but also effectively manages legacy formats.
