MTC was competitively selected to provide these reconstitution efforts in support of the General Support Center - Europe (GSC-E); the principal end user will be the 1st Armor Division. Awarded by the ACA - Wiesbaden Contracting Center, the contract will provide valuable support to reconstitute and reset this key combat armored division. This effort is for a period of 18 months, effective 17 September 2004.
This contract extends and expands MTC's activities in reconstituting Army forces' combat equipment to ready it for future rotations as required for Army needs. MTC was chosen because it offered a quality team of experts and an efficient management structure to ensure the successful inspection, repair and refurbishment of a variety of the Army's family of wheeled and tracked vehicles, and support equipment.
MTC has formed an elite team of industry leaders in Army logistics reconstitution and transformation to ensure the success of these vital services. Stanley Associates, Alexandria, Virginia, will supply automation and supply functions. Anteon Corporation, Fairfax, Virginia, will provide additional automation support.
MTC's Chief Executive Officer, David S. Gutridge commented, "I am proud that MTC has been selected to win this award to provide services that will help ensure that our Nation's Army forces are fully equipped and ready to deploy when called upon. Looking back as recently as a year ago, MTC was not fully equipped to compete for this award. However, in the 4th Quarter of 2003, we made two strategic acquisitions.
These acquisitions have since been seamlessly integrated into our operations and have positioned us to win this award. Our position as Lead System Integrator on this project will necessitate significant use of our subcontractor teammates, which will result in lower margins than the services provided by our own people. However, the chance to significantly demonstrate our capabilities to a new customer base makes this a great opportunity for the Company.
