The multi-year awards involve the engineering, deployment and support of fully operational powerline-enabled Ethernet data networks within various Navy program management facilities in accordance with current Navy Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) standards.
Telkonet will rapidly deliver secure, flexible and scalable networking environments at the customer locations by using the facility's existing electrical wiring as network infrastructure.
"I am pleased to announce the achievement of this significant milestone in the execution of Telkonet's strategy to provide U.S. government and military organizations with secure and reliable powerline communications solutions," said Ronald W. Pickett, President and CEO of Telkonet.
"We look forward to building upon our initial successes within the Navy and Marine Corps communities as they move ahead with the deployment of the largest, most secure military network in the world."
With a $6.9 billion dollar budget, the Navy Marine Corps Intranet is the largest government Information Technology (IT) program in the world and is transforming the U.S. Department of the Navy's (DoN) IT environment and the way it does business.
NMCI delivers a comprehensive, end-to-end information system to the DoN through a common computing and communications environment. When completed, NMCI will be the second largest IT network in the world, after the Internet, equipping the DoN with access, interoperability and security for information and communications.
