NAVSATCOMMFAC is an information gateway supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Global Information Grid (GIG), and is one of the military's newest DOD Teleport facilities providing both satellite and terrestrial connectivity for voice, video, and data to ships, submarines, aircraft and ground forces operating worldwide in support of Naval and Joint Forces Missions.
The five-year follow-on contract calls for the operation and maintenance of various systems and services including three Defense Satellite Communications Systems (DSCS) links, two AN/FSC-78 heavy earth terminals, and one AN/GSC-52 state-of-the-art medium terminal, one Ku-band 6.3-meter terminal, two on-call Ku-band 9-meter terminals and two on-call C-band 16-meter terminals.
The site supports over 250 trunks and individual circuits including the military's Tactical NIPRNET/SIPRNET nodes.

NAVSATCOMMFAC is one of the Department of Defense seventeen Standard Tactical Entry Points (STEP) sites worldwide, six of which have been designated as full DOD Teleport facilities providing both military satellite X band and commercial satellite C and Ku band capabilities.
