Orbit International's Power Unit Segment Receives New Orders
Hauppauge NY (SPX) Dec 02, 2004
Orbit International Wednesday announced that its Power Units Segment, Behlman Electronics, has received several orders totaling over $700,000 for Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) power supplies used for U.S. Naval aircraft and shipboard applications.

These are all repeat orders from work performed for these customers in the past with the exception of one new order for the development of a COTS power solution for a U.S. Navy shipboard satellite communication system.

Deliveries under these contracts are expected to commence in the second quarter of 2005 and continue through the fourth quarter of 2005.

In addition, the Company announced that Behlman's bookings continue to be up significantly from the prior year.

This increase is principally due to the receipt of orders announced in June 2004 for its power supplies for the Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) program for the F/A-18 aircraft as well as a significant increase in COTS bookings.

Mark Tublisky, President of Behlman, commented, "Behlman continues to see a significant amount of activity in both new and repeat orders for its products used in COTS power applications. These orders demonstrate that Behlman is continually developing new business while reaping the rewards of repeat business."

Dennis Sunshine, President and Chief Executive Officer of Orbit International added, "Behlman's strong bookings in 2004 will provide Behlman with a strong base of business going into 2005. Both our Power Units and Electronics Segments continue to receive contract awards for reorders from our customers on existing programs and some of the new opportunities we have been pursuing are also coming to fruition. We remain confident that our strong operating performance will continue in 2005."
