Ceradyne Receives Ceramic Body Armor Orders Totaling $6.4 Million

Ceradyne announced the receipt of two orders totaling $6.4 million for the Company's ceramic body armor systems used to protect certain elite U.S. military personnel. These orders are projected to be shipped during the first nine months of 2005.

Joel Moskowitz, Ceradyne chief executive officer, commented: "We are pleased to continue supplying ceramic body armor systems to protect these elite U.S. forces in the war on terror. These new orders represent Ceradyne's state-of-the-art ballistically enhanced systems and are different and separate from the large orders for Small Arms Protective Inserts (SAPI) the Company recently announced."
