MTC Wins Engineering Study To Improve F-15 Aircraft Systems Interface
Dayton OH (SPX) Dec 02, 2004
MTC Technologies and its subsidiaries have announced that the company has been awarded a task order under its Air Force Warner Robins Air Logistic Center (WRALC) FAST contract to identify and manufacture solutions to improve the systems interface between F-15 aircraft Fighter Data Link (FDL) and TACAN (Tactical Air Navigation) transmission signals.

MTC will execute this task from its operational facility in Warner Robins, Georgia. MTC has selected two teammates to support the effort: ARINC, a world leader in aviation communications, based in Annapolis, Maryland and Sensor Systems, known for innovative antenna designs, based in Chatsworth, California.

The scope of work includes proposing possible solutions to improve interface between the FDL and TACAN; fabricating prototype antennas; testing items; and producing modified systems to retrofit the F-15 aircraft fleet, as necessary.

The five-year task consists of a basic year with 4 one-year options for a total potential value of over $6 million

"MTC has worked to build a strong relationship with Warner Robins ALC customers for nearly 15 years and we are pleased to win this opportunity to help them achieve their mission goals," observed David Gutridge, MTC Chief Executive Officer.

"We are proud to have ARINC and Sensor Systems as partners to help identify solutions for these information technology systems that are so crucial to our fighter pilots in their combat role."
