The contract was awarded to BAE Systems by Public Works Government Services Canada (PWGSC) for the Department of National Defence, Ottawa, Canada.
The TSPI System will have the capability to remotely operate four Optical Tracking mounts in order to provide precision data on two objects simultaneously. The TSPI System will provide real-time inputs for continuous assessment by the range safety officer.
BAE Systems Integrated Operations & Maintenance Solutions has delivered more than 90 precision tracking radar systems and precision tracking optical systems to test ranges throughout the world. The TSPI System for PLER is a continuation of the evolving technology in high speed data processing, precision optical instruments including infrared camera, eye safe laser ranging units and high speed video cameras.
The majority of the integration work will be accomplished in Fort Walton Beach, Fla., with some key suppliers located in other locations in the U.S. and Canada.
