Q1 And Northrop Grumman Win DHS Contract For QRadar Deployment
Waltham MA (SPX) Dec 15, 2004
Q1 Labs announced Tuesday a strategic partnership with Northrop Grumman to resell Q1 Labs' flagship product, QRadar. Northrop Grumman produced immediate results for the partnership, winning a Department of Homeland Security contract to deploy QRadar for stronger network security.

"Government organizations like the Department of Homeland Security are facing unprecedented challenges and need a strong new approach to keeping critical networks safe and information confidential," said Shaun McConnon, CEO of Q1 Labs.

"An enterprise-wide view of network behavior is the first step, followed by intelligent analysis and immediate resolution to stop threats and unacceptable activity. Our government customers are looking for a 'network weapons system' that recognizes and resolves new security threats in real-time, regardless of their source."

QRadar (an acronym for Real-time Anomaly Detection and Resolution), provides both network and security experts with a unique live mechanism for surveillance, analysis and control of the network.

QRadar profiles the behavior of systems, applications and users, learning normal patterns and immediately recognizing anomalies, whether they originate from security breaches, internal network misuse and policy violations, or operational inefficiencies.

A snap-in QRadar-ICX module resolves problems with a range of automated options - by Isolating, Containing and eXtinguishing any type of network misuse, stopping malicious activity cold.

"Q1 Labs is integrating security with the network for enterprise-wide intrusion prevention. We continue to build momentum with large government organizations because they understand the importance of real-time identification and resolution of threats," said Jim Charlton, senior vice president of worldwide sales for Q1 Labs.

"Q1 Labs brings the Department of Homeland Security a unique new ability to quarantine and resolve threats before they can spread and cause damage."

The addition of Northrop Grumman to Q1 Labs' Q-Alliance Partner Program, launched earlier this year, continues the company's rapid momentum in which it has added more than 25 partners in the last year.

It also expands the growing Q1 Labs Federal market presence, supplementing establishment of a National Capital Region sales office in May.
