ComStream Rolls Out VSAT Systems
ComStream has signed 3 new contracts with COMSAT Brasil
Ltda., a leading provider of private voice and data networks for
businesses operating in Brazil. The combined value of these contracts
is in excess of $3 million.
COMSAT Brasil's new customers include a large retailer. COMSAT
Brasil has selected ComStream's VSATPlus II for a 70-node network that
will provide private voice and data communications capabilities
between stores, distribution points, and credit and collection sites
in Brazil. The retailer is also planning to expand the network to
include its operations in Argentina.
Another COMSAT Brasil customer, a major soft drink distributor,
will use the VSATPlus II system for a satellite-based private voice
and data network to interconnect its bottling facilities and sales
offices. And, Aguia Branca, a leading trucking firm in Brazil, will
use services offered by COMSAT Brasil and ComStream's VSAT equipment
to dispatch long-haul drivers throughout the nation.
In the United States, Dow Jones and Company, publisher of the
Wall Street Journal, is upgrading its ComStream TDMA network. The
initial purchase of three VSATPlus IIer nodes is valued at $278,950.
ComStream has also been awarded a contract by a service provider in
Eastern Europe for the supply of VSATPlus II equipment. The system
will be used to provide voice and data satellite services for sites
located across Russia. The contract is in excess of $1 million.

San Diego - March 9, 1998 - ComStream, an international provider of digital transmission solutions for data, audio, and video applications, today announced that its Satellite Global Access (SGA) division has signed several new contracts for its VSATPlus II satellite networking product, in Latin America, the U.S. and Eastern Europe.
