Airplanes that could do the same would have many advantages over today's flying machines, including increased fuel efficiency. Now MIT engineers report they may have found a way for structures -- and materials -- to move in this way, essentially morphing from one shape into another.

'Irrational' US View Will Not Prevail: Iran's FM

US pressure on the UN Security Council to penalise Iran for its nuclear policy is "irrational" and will not succeed, Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said in Qatar Wednesday. "I predict that the irrational American view will not prevail in the security council," Mottaki told reporters after meeting with Qatar's emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa.
Major Powers Fail To Break Impasse Over Iran

Lockheed Martin: Integrated Weapons System To A-10C Flight Test Program

The Lockheed Martin-led A-10 Prime Team has delivered a new weapons delivery system to the U.S. Air Force's A-10C flight-test program. Called the Digital Stores Management System (DSMS), the new system is integrated with the Sniper and LITENING targeting pods to give the aircraft a 'smart' weapons capability for its close air support role.
Raytheon's Early Warning Radar Participates In Missile Defense Flight Test

Raytheon Company's Upgraded Early Warning Radar (UEWR) at Beale Air Force Base, Calif., performed successfully in a flight test of the Ground Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). The test was conducted by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Feb. 23.
