BAE receives $249 million for U.S. Army common missile warning system

BAE Systems has received a $249 million U.S. Army contract modification for the AN/AAR-57 Common Missile Warning Systems and associated services.

The deal also covers spare parts, systems engineering, technical and logistical support services.

Work location will be determined with each order, and the estimated completion date is September 2018.

Army Contracting Command is the contracting entity.

The system provides missile warning for rotary and fixed-wing aircraft.

BAE first fielded the system in 2006. Since then, more than 2,000 systems have been delivered and installed on more than 30 different platforms.

Designed for a variety of aircraft, the system features line-replaceable units that can be switched out in three to five minutes on the flight line without the need for special tools or equipment.
