include"/home2/www/vhosts/spacedaily.com/spxphp/ap-1.php" ?>The satellites, developed by Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology-a subsidiary of China Aerospace Science and Technology Corp and the manufacturer of the satellites-were constructed for Tsing Shen Technology in Shanghai. This company is working on establishing a space-based broadband internet network through a constellation of satellites positioned in medium-Earth orbit.
The newly launched satellites are equipped with advanced technologies, including a multi-beam high-speed microwave link and a two-way inter-satellite laser link. These features are essential for the network's requirements. The satellites will soon commence trial operations aimed at establishing a direct data link between China and its research stations in Antarctica.
