 Southeast Asian country orders M3 bridge system Madrid (UPI) Feb 2, 2017 - An unidentified country in Southeast Asia has ordered an M3 Amphibious Bridge and Ferry System from General Dynamics European Land Systems. The M3 system is used by NATO and non-NATO nations in a variety of roles, including combat operations and civil defense. "The award of the contract once again underlines the quality and superior performance of General Dynamics European Land Systems' mobile bridge systems and the high reputation our company and products have in the defense market as the most modern and most powerful amphibious bridge and ferry system," said Dr. Thomas Kauffmann, vice president of the company's International Business & Services unit. The M3 Amphibious Bridge and Ferry System can carry payloads of up to MLC85 tracked vehicles and MLC132 wheeled vehicles and can build a 330-foot floating bridge in less than 10 minutes. General Dynamics European Land Systems, headquartered in Madrid, Spain, is a business unit of General Dynamics.

Harris Corporation is to supply advanced electronic warfare threat protection systems to the Royal Moroccan Air Force.
The indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract was issued by the U.S. Air Force's Warner Robins Air Logistics Center and involves the AN/ALQ-211 Advanced Integrated Defensive Electronic Warfare Suite, or AIDEWS.
AIDEWS is the only combat-ready electronic warfare system available to allied countries flying F-16 aircraft.
"AIDEWS' integrated radar warning and RF countermeasures defend against modern sophisticated electronic threats," said Ed Zoiss, president, Harris Electronic Systems. "Harris is committed to rapidly fielding this proven capability to support the Royal Moroccan Air Force's pilots and enable their mission."
The contract includes provisions for spare parts and support equipment and services for the EW system.
The contract carries a value of $91 million.
