LeoLabs Secures $20M in New Contracts in H1 2024

LeoLabs, a leader in space monitoring solutions, announced it secured over $20M in contracts during the first half of 2024. This milestone has driven a revenue growth of over 100% year-over-year, highlighting the company's growing dominance in Space Domain Awareness (SDA) and Space Traffic Management (STM).

In early 2024, LeoLabs secured new contracts to support SDA and STM missions for a growing global clientele. Key clients include the U.S. Space Force, the U.S. Department of Commerce, and several undisclosed U.S. and international government entities. The company now supports eight nations, including key U.S. Allies and Partners' space commands and civil space agencies, and is trusted by commercial space operators managing 75% of operational satellites in Low Earth Orbit (LEO).

LeoLabs provides the U.S. Space Command's Joint Commercial Operations Cell and multiple U.S. Allies with continuous monitoring of critical objects in LEO. Additionally, they support NOAA's Office of Space Commerce in advancing the U.S. Traffic Coordination System for Space (TraCSS). LeoLabs is also working on next-generation radar technology for the U.S. Air Force Research Lab through a Phase II Small Business Innovation Research award, enhancing tracking capabilities for noncooperative launches, smaller debris, and objects in Very Low Earth Orbit.

"LeoLabs has established itself as an industry leader," said Tony Frazier, who joined the company as CEO in March. "The strong demand we experienced in the first half of 2024 reflects the emerging threats in space that require our unique capabilities and expertise. We are committed to being a critical mission partner for U.S., Allied, and commercial spacecraft operators and will continue to invest in new capabilities that help our customers counter current and future threats."

The company is focusing on several key markets as it scales, including supporting the SDA missions of the 41 countries identified by U.S. Space Command in its "Partner to Win" strategy. LeoLabs is also applying its STM capabilities to support civil space missions globally and sees strong interest in its next-generation radar technology for emerging missions with U.S. and Allied partners.
