The U.S. Army has awarded Northrop Grumman a five-year, $100 million contract to continue support of the III Corps Mission Command Training Center (MCTC).

The program, which was awarded under the Operations Planning Training and Resource Support Services (OPTARSS) II contract, will provide training for Army mission command systems, simulation-driven staff training exercises, and immersive training for platoon and company convoy and counter-IED operations.

The contract includes one base year and four option years.

"We've proudly supported the MCTC program for more than a decade with superior time-tested performance," said Greg Schmidt, vice president and general manager, Northrop Grumman's Training Solutions division.

"Our training is based on the latest tactics, techniques and procedures derived from lessons learned in theater and enables complete mission readiness so when a warfighter reaches the battlefield, they feel like they've already been there."

Northrop Grumman has provided support to the MCTC at Fort Hood and Fort Bliss, Texas, Fort Carson, Colo., Fort Sill, Okla., Fort Riley, Kan., and Fort Knox, Ky., since 2001.

"Customer satisfaction, affordability and warfighter readiness are our biggest priorities with MCTC," said Shirley DeGroot, program manager of III Corps MCTC for Northrop Grumman's Training Solutions division.

"Northrop Grumman's position at the forefront of Army training and the live-virtual-constructive arena reduces risk for our nation's servicemen and women."
