Professionals Satellite YPSat Ready for Electromagnetic Compatibility Testing

ESA's Young Professionals Satellite (YPSat) is making significant progress as it approaches its crucial phase of electromagnetic compatibility testing. The YPSat project, led entirely by ESA Young Professionals, aims to provide them with hands-on experience in designing, building, and testing hardware for space applications while contributing to the upcoming Ariane 6 launch. The latest testing milestone took place at ESA's EMC Laboratory in the Netherlands, ensuring that all systems on board can operate seamlessly without interference.

Julien Krompholtz, the current project manager of YPSat, expressed his enthusiasm, saying, "It's amazing to see the hard work of the team finally come together in its flight configuration for the mandatory tests before the integration on Ariane 6." This project emphasizes knowledge transfer as entry-level participants move on to new roles, ensuring a continuous flow of expertise.

Julien further highlighted the team's dedication, stating, "I'm very proud to be part of such a fun project and an amazing team. Beyond the excitement of seeing YPSat fully assembled, there's the awesome feeling as every part gets tested and smoothly comes to life."

While YPSat is approaching readiness for launch, it is important to note that the payload will undergo a cleaning process before flight. Subsequently, it will be disassembled once more for final assembly, including the proper torquing of screws. YPSat is scheduled to be handed over to the launch provider, Arianespace, next spring.

This significant progress in the YPSat project underscores the commitment and dedication of ESA's young professionals, who are gaining invaluable experience and contributing to the success of the Ariane 6 mission.
