Raytheon to support Stinger weapon for U.S. and foreign countries

Raytheon Missiles Systems has been awarded a foreign and domestic contract for services in support of the Stinger weapon system.

The deal, announced Thursday by the Department of Defense, is valued at more than $92 million under a cost-plus-fixed-fee contract for both domestic use in the U.S. and to the benefit to both Poland and Taiwan under a foreign military sale agreement.

Raytheon will provide "engineering and technical services" in support of the Stinger weapon system.

The Stinger is a lightweight and portable air defense weapon system that provides mobile ground forces with an air defense capability.

Work and funding the contract will be determined with each order request, according to the DoD press release, with an expected completion date of December 2022.
