Roboteam's unmanned logistics vehicle in full production

Roboteam Inc.'s Probot logistical carrier is in full production and being delivered to two U.S. government agencies and a foreign client.

Recipients of the first 40 unmanned robotic vehicles include the U.S. Defense Threat Reduction Agency and the Israeli Defense Forces, the company announced.

"Our newest Probot is designed by veteran warfighters, for the modern-day warfighter," said Heidi Shyu, chairman of the board at Roboteam and former U.S. assistant secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology. "The second generation Probot is the most sophisticated unmanned logistical carrier of its type, supporting soldiers in the most complex and dangerous tactical environments.

"Roboteam provides our nation and its allies with the most innovative and relevant ground robotics to help bring our soldiers back home safely."

The second-generation Probot has an enhanced run-time of up to 72 hours and features an onboard generator that charges the batteries while the vehicle is in motion, a payload capacity of more than a ton and the company's autonomous "Follow-Me" technology.

Roboteam's manufacturing partner for Probot is API Technologies in Windber, Penn.
