Sateliot, the company spearheading the first low-Earth orbit (LEO) nanosatellite constellation utilizing 5G NB-IoT NTN standards, has successfully added four more satellites to its constellation. This launch, part of the company's 5G NB-IoT NTN initiative, is set to enhance global coverage for Mobile Telecom Operators. The satellites were launched on Friday, August 16, at 20:18 CET, aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, USA, as part of the SpaceX Transporter-11 mission.

In Barcelona, the Sateliot team, alongside key stakeholders, gathered to witness the launch. The event, hosted by Josep Calatayud, director of the "Control de Mision" YouTube channel, featured live interviews with shareholders, government representatives, and employees. Sateliot's co-founders, CEO Jaume Sanpera and CTO Marco Guadalupi, shared their insights on the company's trajectory and future plans. "This launch propels us into a new phase of development," said Jaume Sanpera, CEO and co-founder of Sateliot. "Not only will we begin generating revenue, but we will also position Spain as a global leader in IoT connectivity."

The mission, named 'Revolution,' drew inspiration from Antoni Gaudi's dragon, symbolizing the resilience of Sateliot's technology and its global aspirations. The mission badge features four flames, each representing one of the newly launched satellites, and multicolored fragments hinting at a future constellation of over 100 satellites by 2028.

The 5G NB-IoT NTN standard being implemented by Sateliot has the potential to transform industries worldwide. With this technology, connectivity will reach even the most remote locations, eliminating traditional black spots. Sateliot's constellation is the first to fully integrate standard GSMA and 3GPP developments into satellite communications. Beyond commercial service, Sateliot plans to leverage these advancements to drive future innovations within the NTN community. Their patented "Store and Forward" technology enables unparalleled global connectivity, supported by a new orbital plane. Additionally, Sateliot is developing a certification program for commercial terminals to streamline the adoption of their service in the market.

Looking ahead, Sateliot aims to deploy more satellites by 2025 and is in discussions to secure 30 million euros in Series B funding. Since its inception in 2018, the company has raised 25 million euros and targets revenues of 1 billion euros by 2030.

Sateliot's technology is designed to connect over eight million devices for companies that have already signed up for the service. It is accessible and democratic, supporting a wide array of use cases across various sectors, including agriculture, livestock, logistics, and critical infrastructure.
