Stevens New Director Of Communications And Public Outreach For Space Foundation

Janet P. Stevens, APR, has joined the Space Foundation as director - communications and public outreach. The Space Foundation is an international nonprofit organization that advances space-related endeavors to inspire, enable, and propel humanity.

Stevens is responsible for supporting the Space Foundation's mission through relationships with targeted constituent groups, including the media.

Stevens, a 30-year public relations professional, most recently was senior vice president - public relations for Idearc, Inc., provider of Superpages.comTM and publisher of Verizon Yellow Pages.

Prior to that, Stevens held multiple public relations, communications, and advertising positions with GTE and Verizon.

She also served in quality management for Fidelity Investments, a role that grew out of her leadership in GTE Directory's 1994 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Stevens holds a bachelor's degree in mass communications from the University of South Florida, Tampa, Fla., and is accredited by the Public Relations Society of America. She is based at Space Foundation headquarters in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Alliant Techsystems has appointed Blake Larson as Senior Vice President and President, ATK Space Systems. Mr. Larson is a 27-year veteran of ATK and its former parent company, Honeywell International. Mr. Larson has held a variety of key executive leadership positions in the company, and played an instrumental role in ATK's emergence as a leading aerospace firm.
