The United States said Tuesday that the International Atomic Energy Agency should examine all information regarding Iran's nuclear program, even if it comes from a group labeled terrorist by Washington. "We think that all information needs to be considered by the IAEA," said State Department spokesman Richard Boucher.
The National Council of Resistance of Iran has said Iranian authorities were secretly building a uranium-enrichment plant east of the city of Isfahan.
Firouz Mahvi, a spokesman for the council, said 120 to 180 centrifuges were expected to be installed at the site.
The group, which has been officially declared by the United States terrorist organization, revealed last year the existence of a secret nuclear plant at Natanz, where IAEA inspectors have since discovered traces of enriched uranium.
Boucher said because the council was a terrorist organization, "we don't have any contact with them."
