Regulators sign off on Lockheed's acquisition of Titan Corp.
SAN DIEGO, California (AFP) Dec 08, 2003
US defense contractor Lockheed Martin Corp. said Monday that it has received antitrust approval for its acquisition of Titan Corporation, a supplier of software systems to the Pentagon.

The Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission have both reviewed and signed off on the deal, a Lockheed spokesman said.

The proposed deal was subject to a 30-day waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976.

The number one US defense contractor said it expects the 1.8 billion dollar deal to close in the first quarter of 2004, subject to approval by Titan's stockholders and other closing conditions described in the merger agreement.
