Singapore honours Thai air force chief with award

 Singapore presented the chief of Thailand's air force, Kongsak Vantana, with an award Saturday for his efforts in strengthening ties between the air forces of the two countries, the government said.

Singapore Defence Minister Teo Chee Hean presented the Meritorious Service Medal to the Royal Thai Air Force (RTAF) chief, the defence ministry said in a statement.

"With his personal leadership and commitment, the RTAF has continued to provide invaluable support for the RSAF's (Republic of Singapore Air Force) training and participation in exercises in Thailand," the ministry said.

It said Kongsak's efforts in promoting new initiatives had also taken relations between the two air forces to a higher level.
