NATO could dispatch nearly 2,000 extra soldiers to Kosovo to clamp down on ethnic unrest in the Serbian province, including 750 new troops sent by Britain, an alliance source said Thursday.Speaking as it emerged that 35 NATO troops had been injured, he said decisions were expected in the next few days on exactly how to respond to the region's worst unrest since the 1999 war in Kosovo.
"It will definitely be going up, to perhaps even as high a brigade more," the source told AFP, explaining that overall this could amount to "nearly 2,000" extra troops.
"In the next couple of days you might hear something," he added.
