A Russian Kosmos rocket carrying a military satellite blasted off from the Plesetsk cosmodrome late Thursday, a spokesman for Russia's space forces said.The Kosmos-3M rocket was launched at 9:46 pm (1746 GMT), the ITAR-TASS news agency quoted the spokesman as saying.
The military satellite was the fifth one to be sent into space since the beginning of this year.
