A US plane fired a missile just metres (yards) to the west of Najaf's revered Imam Ali shrine on Wednesday, shaking the mausoleum and filling it with dust, said an AFP correspondent.At around 10:30 am (0630 GMT), the deafening explosion shook the mausoleum, where up to 600 people are thought to be holed up, said the reporter inside the building.
