Under the deal, signed late Wednesday by Blunkett and Deputy Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security James Loy, the two allies will step up cooperation on research into techniques for detection and decontamination by chemical weapons.
"This agreement demonstrates the strong relationship between the UK and US to further scientific research and development that will help advance the security of our respective countries," Blunkett said in a statement.
The two nations will also jointly develop and test new technologies to boost civil security.
