SAN SALVADOR (AFP) Jul 29, 2005
El Salvador's Congress has voted to send a fresh military contingent to Iraq as it remains the only Latin American country with troops in the war-torn country, legislative sources said Friday.

Lawmakers agreed late Thursday to send 380 soldiers for a period of one year.

The Central American soldiers are deployed in Hilla, south of Baghdad.
