The countries "plan to resume on September 2," Wu, the Chinese vice foreign minister, told Social Democratic Party party leader Mizuho Fukushima at a meeting here, a party official said on condition of anonymity.
The two Koreas, China, Japan, Russia and the United States broke off the latest round of talks earlier this month at an apparent impasse over Pyongyang's demand to have nuclear facilities for civilian energy needs.
China, North Korea's main ally, is hosting the negotiations.
