Kyiv strikes show Russia 'doesn't know how to end war': Macron
Paris, France, May 14 (AFP) May 14, 2026
French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday condemned a massive Russian drone and missile attack on Kyiv, saying it showed Moscow's "weakness" and its inability to "end its war of aggression".

His comments came after Russia bombarded the Ukrainian capital for hours early Thursday with hundreds of drones and dozens of missiles, killing at least five people.

"By bombing civilians, Russia is demonstrating not so much its strength as its weakness: it has run out of options on the military front and does not know how to end its war of aggression," Macron said on X.

Russia, which launched its invasion of Ukraine more than four years ago, said the strikes were retaliatory and targeted military-linked sites and energy facilities that support the Ukrainian army.
