The Lahav Division of Israel Aircraft Industries has been selected to provide its Virtual Mission Training System (VMTS) for Raytheon Aircraft's T-6B aircraft. IAI is the subcontractor to CMC Electronics, who is the prime contractor for the T-6B avionics system. IAI's VMTS simulates advanced multi-mode radar capabilities and other front line combat aircraft systems, enabling advanced fighter aircraft training, without the need to install and integrate costly systems on the aircraft itself. The flexible Virtual Mission Training System provides true programmable training capabilities and can be adapted to the radar system of any front-line fighter aircraft. The system uses a sophisticated data link network between the trainer aircraft, which provides enhanced flight safety with the mid-air collision avoidance feature. VMTS also provides simulation of air-to-air missiles, electronic warfare (EW) warning systems, and other training features. The autonomous Virtual Mission Training System can be accompanied by a ground station that provides real-time capabilities, as well as 3-D post-flight debriefing. IAI's Virtual Mission Training System is operational on the Spanish Air Force upgraded F- 5B aircraft and has been integrated on the Royal Australian Air Force BAE Systems Hawk aircraft.
