Under the $250 million, five-year contract, the selected contractor will support the JWFC by planning and executing joint exercises and events; conducting crisis rehearsals; coordinating joint modeling and simulation; and developing and assessing training capabilities. The contract is expected to be awarded late next year.

The JWFC prepares combatant command staffs, joint task forces and the individual services to fight as a collaborative team, or a "joint force." JWFC's Joint National Training Capability creates joint warfighting conditions through a collection of networked training sites linked to real-world command-and-control systems.

Northrop Grumman's Mission Systems sector is leading a team that will continue to include Cubic Defense Applications, San Diego, and General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, Arlington, Va.
