The Commerce Ministry announced Friday that a first batch of 100 tents was to arrive Monday in Jordan from Urumqi, the capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uighur Autonomous Region, state media reported.
The tents will then be distributed by a Jordanian welfare organization.
Beginning in early April, another 400 tents will be sent in small batches to aid the expected hundreds of thousands of Iraqi refugees fleeing the war in their country.
A ministry spokesman was quoted by Xinhua as saying China would continue to provide humanitarian aid, within its capacity, to Iraq.
