Moroccan anti-war group wants US, British ambassadors expelled
RABAT (AFP) Apr 03, 2003
A Moroccan coalition of associations supporting Iraq urged the government Thursday to expel the ambassadors of the United States and Britain and to clearly state its position on the war.

Morocco's government should "annonce a clear position condemning the aggression and the aggressors and contribute effectively to ending the colonialist invasion of Iraq," the National Action Iraq Support Group said.

The north African country's government has expressed "deep disappointment" at "the choice of resorting to force" to settle the crisis over Iraq's alleged weapons of mass destruction.

King Mohammed VI has said he shares the "deep concern of Moroccans" but called on people to "show level heads, wisdom and discipline."

The support group, which comprises dozens of anti-war associations, said in a statement that all Arab and Muslim countries should expel US and British ambassadors since they were "representatives of governments turned terrorists".

It also argued that boycotting American and British products has become "a national, religious and humanitarian duty."
