Concern over humanitarian situation in Iraq: French FM

France, Germany and Russia are concerned about the "urgent humanitarian situation" in Iraq, French Foreign Minister Dominique de Villepin said Friday.

After talks with his Russian counterpart Igor Ivanov and German Foreign Minister Joschka Fischer, de Villepin insisted the UN should "from now on" play a key role in Iraq "especially in the humanitarian field."

Ivanov added the priority in Iraq was ending the hostilities which began on March 20.
